Kris Kobach thinks the first priority of a congressman shouldn't be voting in Congress, it should be skipping those votes to debate his campaign opponent.
That's what we can learn from today's story by Dan J. Smith in the Olathe Daily News and by Brad Cooper's recent story in The Kansas City Star.
Never one to let the business of governing get in the way of his own ego, Kobach is upset that Moore will have to debate Kobach via telephone at tomorrow's forum. He thinks it is "sad" that Moore won't toss aside the duties of his office in order to please Kris.
Kobach calls the congressional schedule a "sham" -- forgetting that it is not Moore, but Kobach's own party leadership which sets that schedule.
Apparently, Moore should have decided to blow off voting in Congress so he could debate Kobach in-person. Of course, if Moore had done that, Kobach would be attacking him for skipping votes to campaign.
Kobach is also upset that there will be "only" three debates -- which we recall is the same number as in 2000 and 2002 -- despite the fact that his own campaign was only asking for four debates.
You can't please everybody, but apparently nobody can please Kris Kobach.
